Busy Bee is something of an institution around the Msida area. The café’s history dates back to 1933, when a gentleman called Ċensu Friggieri opened ‘Busy Bee Bar’, a confectionary serving up some of Malta’s best-loved sweets and treats, including the much-loved Cannoli.

3 | Charles Grech, Valletta

If you’re in the mood for something a little on the fancy side, look no further than Charles Grech in our beautiful capital, Valletta! The café is in Republic street, just past the ruins of the majestic Royal Opera House, now an open-air performance space.

Take a step back in time and nestle into a cosy corner over at Café Jubilee! The vintage décor and delicious food and drink will keep you coming back for more, and you might even get the chance to enjoy a bit of live music while you dig in to some dessert!

By far one of the most well-known cafés on the island, Fontanella is the ideal place to rest your tired legs after a full day of sightseeing around Malta’s old capital, affectionately nicknamed “The Silent City”. Our top tip? Try the chocolate cake.
