The Mosta dome has one of the largest unsupported domes in the world and is one of the most fascinating churches in Malta. This church miraculously survived the second world war when a high explosive bomb pierced the dome on the 9th April 1942 while 300 people were attending mass. The bomb did not explode and none of the people inside were harmed. This is a truly beautiful church with a rich history and definitely worth seeing while in Malta!
