No matter how hard we may try to listen to our well-meaning dentists and avoid the more sugary things in life, sometimes you just need to satisfy that craving. Whether you’re a serial candy-bandit or just want to treat yourself to something tasty, we’ve got a few places to get you started on your next sugar run.
1 | Flora’s, Naxxar
This cute cafe is a pastel-coloured dream filled with all the sweet treats and comforting cups to tea you could possibly want. Oh, one more thing – it’s all home-made, and the only thing sweeter than the cupcakes is the fantastic service!
2 | Miss Ellen’s Travelling Treats
Miss Ellen’s is Malta’s first ever retro sweet shop, and comes complete with an adorable mint-green vintage van that drives around some of the island’s busiest towns to bring old school sweets and chocolates to the masses.

3 | Molly’s, Mosta
For some of the fluffiest pancakes on the island, hit Molly’s in Constitution Street, Mosta, and leave the tight pants at home! Yes, we would like some extra panna please.
4 | Busy Bee, Msida
This classy little cafe has been a local favourite ever since opening its doors in 1933. Here, you’ll be spoilt for choice with all those time-honoured classics – cannoli, chocolate eclairs, almond pastries, ottijiet, ice-creams, and much more. Our top tip? Try and grab a table near the big window for the perfect people-watching position.
5 | Waffle Bros, Msida
A relatively new addition to the busy town, Waffle Bros has already become something of an institution among Maltesers. Build your own delicious waffle or chomp on some churros – and don’t forget to wash it all down with a cup of their fantastic coffee.
6 | Shoreditch, Paceville
Located right in the heart of Paceville, Shoreditch is the place to be if you’re looking to take your pancake game to the next level – and we mean the next level.
