This week we cross over to our sister island: Gozo. The Citadel is a unique and ancient city which towers high above the island’s capital Victoria. This fortified city has recently undergone major restoration and is expected to be nominated as a UNESCO world heritage site. An amazing place that’s definitely worth a visit!
The Visitors Centre is open daily between 9.00am and 5.00pm. A €5 ticket entitles visitors to visit the Cittadella Visitors’ Centre (the lead image), the Gozo Archaeology Museum, the Nature Museum, the Old Prisons and the Gran Castello Historic House.
The Cittadella Visitors’ Centre has won prestigious awards including the Prix d’ Honneur and Silver Medal by Din l-Art Helwa Malta’s leading NGO in Cultural Heritage, the 2016 Malta Architects Awards and the 2017 Install Award. It has also earned a 2017 certificate of excellence from Tripadvisor.
